This is a good spot to note two things:
- You should read John Thorn’s Baseball in the Garden of Eden, if you haven’t already, and;
- If a team has a modern day MLB successor, I always tag the current team city/name so that fans can more easily find the picture. So Boston Beaneaters players are tagged as Atlanta Braves, or, in this case, New York Giants is tagged as San Francisco Giants.
Handsome Dan only played eight games, so I guess larger pictures of him did not survive.
